As we step into the new year, we will begin to see the changing of the guards as the North Node moves into Pisces and the South Node into Virgo. The nodes in astrology, which symbolize our collective karmic lessons and growth, move backward through the zodiac, offering a fresh perspective as we leave behind the Aries/Libra eclipse cycle that has shaped the past year and half. Now, we embrace the healing, mystical, and altruistic energy of Pisces, balanced by the grounded, detail-oriented wisdom of Virgo.
Astrology’s beauty lies in its cyclical nature, allowing us to look back and discern patterns. The last time we experienced this Pisces-Virgo nodal axis was from 2006 to 2008. Themes from that period—healing, spirituality, creativity, and service—may resurface, offering an opportunity to revisit, refine, and realign.
This nodal shift is amplified by Venus’s retrograde journey, which begins in Aries and dips back into Pisces. Venus, the planet of love, beauty, and creativity, will enter Pisces on January 3, 2025, and linger there until April 2025 due to her retrograde motion. During this time, she will square Jupiter in Gemini, magnifying the themes of romance, sensitivity, and artistic expression.
Piscean Themes and the Power of Transformation
Pisces embodies the essence of healing, spirituality, and the dissolving of boundaries. It is the sign of dreams, idealism, and emotional transcendence. This nodal shift invites us to tap into our compassion, empathy, and imagination. It’s a time to let go of rigid expectations (Virgo South Node) and embrace the flow of the divine (Pisces North Node).
This energy calls to mind the works of Vincent van Gogh, a quintessential Piscean artist and one of my favorites. Through his brushstrokes, Van Gogh captured the indescribable—transforming emotion, struggle, and transcendence into art that continues to touch the soul. Like Van Gogh, we are invited to channel our feelings into creative outlets, whether through painting, music, writing, or any form of artistic expression. Art becomes a vessel for healing, a way to process and transform the intangible into something tangible and meaningful.
Venus Retrograde: Revisiting Love and Creativity
Venus retrogrades are known for bringing past loves, unresolved emotions, and creative inspirations back to the surface. With Venus in Pisces, this energy takes on a deeply romantic and spiritual tone. Pisces’s influence heightens sensitivity, idealism, and the yearning for soul-level connections.
If there’s ever been a time for heartfelt apologies, reconciliations, or rekindling old flames, this is it. A simple note, a song, or a poem can carry profound healing energy. For artists, this transit is a gift. Creativity flows effortlessly, as if guided by the universe itself. Let your imagination run free and allow the Piscean waters to inspire new visions.
Who Will Feel This Most?
This nodal shift and Venus retrograde will especially impact:
• Pisces and Aries risings: A time of deep self-reflection and transformation.
• Taurus and Libra risings: As Venus rules your chart, her retrograde invites a reassessment of self-worth, relationships, and personal values.
Living the Pisces-Virgo Axis
The Pisces North Node encourages us to trust in the divine, let go of perfectionism, and embrace the beauty of imperfection. Meanwhile, the Virgo South Node reminds us to stay grounded, discerning, and mindful of practical details. Together, they guide us toward a harmonious balance between spirituality and reality.
As the eclipse season unfolds remember to celebrate the moment. Whether through art, connection, or introspection, allow this time to be a catalyst for healing and inspiration. Let the Piscean energy guide you toward the transformative power of creativity and compassion.
Much Love from a Pisces rising with a grand water trine ;)
