Sacred Order, Soul Alignment & the Wisdom of Letting Go

New Moon in Virgo – August 23, 2025

As we approach the New Moon in Virgo on August 23, 2025, we find ourselves deep within a cycle of purification, emotional healing, and spiritual integration. Virgo and Pisces form a potent polarity—one that asks us to ground the mystical and spiritual into the practical details of everyday life. This axis, now activated by an ongoing eclipse cycle that began with the Lunar Eclipse on September 18, 2024, will continue to unfold until early 2027. Yes, you read that right—I had to double-check my ephemeris, too! Eclipses usually stay in a sign for about 18 to 24 months… so the Virgo themes are truly center stage for the long haul.

Virgo energy highlights our habits, health, routines, and the need for order. And although this New Moon isn’t an eclipse, it still packs a punch—thanks to a tense square with Uranus. Expect sudden shifts and shakeups in the very structures we rely on to keep life neat and tidy.

With the South Node in Virgo, the cosmic message is loud and clear: Let. That. Shit. Go.

We cling so tightly to structure, perfection, and control. Trust me, I get it. I’m the one crawling the walls if the dishes aren’t done or the floors haven’t been vacuumed in a week—thank my Virgo mother and my loaded sixth house for that (love you, Mom!). But this lunation asks us: What parts of our Virgo tendencies are truly serving our well-being—and what’s just draining our energy under the illusion of control?

This New Moon occurs at zero degrees Virgo, an “anaretic” or critical degree. In astrology, zero degrees marks the most potent and pure expression of a sign—a powerful moment of initiation. And here we are, right at the threshold: chaos into form, idea into action, soul calling into sacred task.

Mercury, Virgo’s ruler, in Leo, is tracing over recent territory and inviting us to revisit the messages, inspiration, and clarity we may have previously missed. Virgo follows Leo in the zodiac, and the upcoming eclipses in 2026–2027 will light up this Leo-Virgo pathway. This New Moon feels like a sacred meeting point—where personal fire (Leo) meets soul-level service (Virgo). Where joy becomes devotion.

This lunation is also the apex of a Yod, or “Finger of God” configuration—an astrological alignment often linked to fated redirections, karmic tension, and the pressure to adapt and evolve. Yes, it might feel like a crisis. Yes, we may need to make sudden changes. But as I often remind my clients and students: We live in a smart universe, and we have a wise and compassionate Creator. When we stray from our path, life will gently—or sometimes dramatically—course-correct us. But we can’t get it wrong if we stay present and engaged.

Virgo’s order is inescapable—but what if we redefined that order through the lens of the soul? What if this New Moon is an invitation to root ourselves in service that is sacred, clear, and aligned?

“Your work is to discover your world and then with all your heart give yourself to it.” – The Buddha

Let this New Moon be your moment of initiation. Discover your world. Honor your calling. And give yourself fully to the sacred task ahead—with clarity, humility, and trust in divine order.

Much Love Lisa
